Must love chocolate.

Over the past couple of months, I have been helping put together a family recipe book.  Although this seemed to be an easy task at first, gathering and typing every hand written recipe is proving to be a process.  I am very happy to be taking part in this project because a compilation of generations of delicious recipes is absolutely priceless.  Along the way I have become reacquainted with some of my favorite recipes from over the years.  One such recipe is an absolutely delicious cookie that is perfect for any occasion.  Disclaimer: to like this cookie, you must love chocolate!  If you have some extra time this weekend or maybe need a dessert for a Super Bowl party, give it a try!  One bonus to this cookie is it is just as good (maybe even better) completely cool then they are right out of the oven…a rarity I believe.  By the way, they are addicting.

1 ¾ cup softened butter

2 ¼ cup confectioners sugar

1/3 cup cocoa

¼ cup sour cream

1 tbs vanilla

2 ¼ cup flour

2 cups semi-sweet chips

rainbow sprinkles

Combine butter, sugar, cocoa until fluffy.  Beat in sour cream and vanilla.  Add flour and mix.  Stir in chocolate chips.  Refrigerate 1 hour.  Shape in 1” balls.  Dip top in sprinkles.  Place 2” apart on ungreased cookie sheet.  Bake at 325 degrees for 10 minutes.  Enjoy!
